How to Trade NQ Futures: A Practical Guide
6 min read · Last updated 2026
NQ is the E-mini Nasdaq-100 futures contract. It moves fast, offers deep liquidity, and is the instrument most FTS members trade every session. This guide covers the basics and shows how to combine our published levels with a simple entry framework.
What NQ actually is
One NQ contract is $20 per point. A 10-point move is $200 of P&L. The tick size is 0.25, so the smallest price change is $5 per contract. This is why NQ rewards precise levels — and why guessing random support lines is expensive.
The three sessions that matter
The overnight session sets the range. The pre-market session often tests that range. The New York session delivers the cleanest moves, especially in the first two hours. FTS publishes updated levels for each of these sessions so your chart stays current.
The simplest A+ setup
Wait for price to trade into a published A+ Support or A+ Resistance zone. Look for a reversal candle or absorption. Enter only when the level holds, with your stop on the wrong side of the zone. Target the nearest Expected Target Up or Down from the same package.
One level alone is a weaker case. The best setups stack multiple concepts: A+ Support + Best Buy Liquidity + Put Wall + positive gamma underneath is a stronger long than any single line.
